Lorna Malyon

Many of us know John Malyon, a long-time Second Bass member of our merry band, sadly absent for some time now owing to ill health.

Well, it is my sad duty to inform you that John's wife, Lorna, whom many of us also knew very well, died in the early hours of yesterday morning after a prolonged illness (I understand). I'm sure that we all send our sincerest sympathies to John and his family.

John phoned me today to ask if we could get a number together to sing an item at Lorna's funeral. Here are the details: Holy Trinity Church, Victoria Road, Aldershot, at 1:45pm this Friday (13th), and afterwards for refreshments in the lounge of Bourne Court, Manor Road, Aldershot.

Parking at the church can sometimes be a challenge, so you may want to find some official parking nearby and allow yourselves time to get down there. John also tells me that parking may also be a little difficult at Bourne Court, too, but in this case, simply parking in Manor Road itself will be fine. In the map below, "A" represents Holy Trinity Church (not its car park) and "B" Bourne Court, to give you an idea of where the two places are relative to one another.
